OSRS Profits: Leveraging RuneLite for Strategic Money Making

Old School RuneScape (OSRS) offers an expansive world filled with various ways to make OSRS gold. However, the game’s dynamic economy can make it challenging for players to track item prices and determine whether they should buy or sell. Traditionally, players relied on median prices, updated once a day, which can sometimes be misleading. Fortunately, RuneLite has introduced a feature that revolutionizes how players can approach in-game economics. This article explores how to use RuneLite’s advanced pricing tools to maximize your profit and highlights several money-making methods that benefit from these new capabilities.

The RuneLite Pricing Feature: A Game Changer

RuneLite, a popular third-party client for OSRS, now includes a feature that provides up-to-date trading prices for items. This functionality allows players to see what items have recently been traded for, offering a precise view of current market conditions. By utilizing this feature, you can determine the exact profit margins for various money-making methods before you even begin.

1. Crushing Nests for Profit

One of the most straightforward methods enhanced by RuneLite’s pricing feature is crushing nests. Wesley and Nada will crush any item for 50 GP each, including noted items. To maximize your profits, you simply need to compare the sale price of the uncrushed item on the Grand Exchange (GE) to its crushed counterpart.

Steps:

  1. Purchase Uncrushed Items: Buy items on the GE that can be crushed by Wesley or Nada.
  2. Crush the Items: Take them to Wesley and have them crushed.
  3. Sell the Crushed Items: List the crushed items on the GE.

If the difference between the purchase price and the sale price of the crushed items is greater than 50 GP, you make a profit. The high turnover of items like crushed nests means you can flip thousands of items per hour, potentially making significant amounts of gold.

2. Profiting from Item Sets

Creating item sets is another profitable venture, particularly if you’re in the free-to-play segment. Historically, concerns about fluctuating prices for individual set components made this method risky. However, with RuneLite’s real-time pricing, you can confidently calculate the costs and profits.

Steps:

  1. Identify Popular Sets: Choose item sets that are in demand and know their current individual prices.
  2. Purchase Components: Buy the individual items when their prices are low.
  3. Assemble Sets: Combine the items into a complete set.
  4. Sell the Sets: List the complete sets on the GE.

By monitoring the prices of individual items, you can take advantage of situations where set components are undervalued, allowing you to sell the assembled sets at a premium.

3. Crafting Light and Heavy Ballistas

If you’re looking for a method that also offers valuable experience, crafting light and heavy ballistas is a great option. This method requires some initial investment and fletching experience but can be very lucrative.

Steps:

  1. Gather Materials: Obtain the necessary parts to craft ballistas.
  2. Craft the Ballistas: Use your fletching skills to create light or heavy ballistas.
  3. Sell the Ballistas: List them on the GE.

Due to price fluctuations, you might find opportunities where the cost of materials is low compared to the selling price of the crafted ballistas, allowing you to make substantial profits.

4. Repairing Barrows Armor

Repairing Barrows armor can be profitable, especially during spikes in demand. Players can repair their armor either at Bob’s Repair Shop in Lumbridge or using an armor stand in a player-owned house. The latter method is more cost-effective if you have high Smithing levels.

Steps:

  1. Obtain Damaged Armor: Acquire damaged Barrows armor pieces.
  2. Repair the Armor: Use an armor stand or Bob’s Repair Shop.
  3. Sell the Repaired Armor: List the repaired items on the GE.

Repairs at a player-owned house can be up to 50% cheaper, depending on your Smithing level, which can significantly increase your profit margins.

5. Master Scroll Books

Master scroll books can be purchased and then exchanged with Watson for teleport scrolls. This method has a variable profit margin due to the RNG element but can still be quite profitable.

Steps:

  1. Buy Master Scroll Books: Purchase them from the GE.
  2. Exchange for Scrolls: Trade them with Watson to receive teleport scrolls.
  3. Sell the Scrolls: List the scrolls on the GE.

Check the price of scrolls and books to ensure that you’re making a profit after considering the exchange cost.

6. Crafting Boots from Cerberus Crystals

Cerberus drops crystals that can be turned into various boots like Primordial, Pegasian, or Eternal boots. This method is profitable when the boots are rising in price and the crystals are lagging in price adjustments.

Steps:

  1. Collect Crystals: Obtain crystals from Cerberus.
  2. Combine Crystals: Craft the desired boots using crystals and boots.
  3. Sell the Boots: List them on the GE.

Keeping an eye on price discrepancies can lead to significant profits as the prices of the crafted boots adjust more slowly than the crystals.

7. Reverting and Upgrading Weapons

The Bow of Ferdinand, Blade of Saldor, and their seeds provide a lucrative method of making money through weapon upgrades and reversion.

Steps:

  1. Obtain the Weapons: Buy the Blade of Saldor or its seed.
  2. Revert or Upgrade: Use crystal shards to convert or upgrade the weapon.
  3. Sell the Upgraded Weapon: List the upgraded item on the GE.

This method involves some risk due to the price volatility but can yield high profits if executed correctly.

8. Creating God Swords

Creating God Swords or assembling their components can also be profitable. The difference between the cost of the hilt and the blade can result in substantial profits.

Steps:

  1. Buy God Sword Shards: Purchase shards or blades.
  2. Assemble the Sword: Combine the shards to create the God Sword.
  3. Sell the Sword: List the completed sword on the GE.

The God Sword’s components frequently experience price fluctuations, creating profit opportunities.

9. High Alchemy

High alchemy is a reliable method for turning items into gold. By using RuneLite’s latest prices, you can select items that offer the highest profit margins.

Steps:

  1. Find Profitable Items: Use RuneLite or websites like RSorder.com to find items with high alchemy profit.
  2. Alch the Items: Use high alchemy on these items.
  3. Sell the Items: List the alched items on the GE.

This method provides steady income and is especially effective for free-to-play players.

10. Decanting Potions

Buying potions in lower doses and decanting them into higher doses can be a quick way to profit.

Steps:

  1. Purchase Low-Dose Potions: Buy potions in one or two doses.
  2. Decant to Higher Doses: Use Bob in the GE to convert them into higher doses.
  3. Sell the Potions: List the higher-dose potions for sale.

This method leverages price discrepancies between different potion doses for easy and quick profits.

11. Converting ZGS Spears

Zamorak Spears can be converted into Hastas, providing another profitable method.

Steps:

  1. Acquire Zamorak Spears: Buy them on the GE.
  2. Convert Spears to Hastas: Use Otto for conversion.
  3. Sell the Hastas: List them for sale on the GE.

This conversion process can yield significant profits, especially if you complete the Elite Diary for reduced conversion costs.

12. Decanting Potions

Finally, one of the simplest methods involves buying Giant Egg Sacs, opening them to get Red Spider Eggs, and selling them on the GE. This method is easy and requires no special skills.

Steps:

  1. Purchase Giant Egg Sacs: Buy them on the GE.
  2. Open the Sacs: Convert them into Red Spider Eggs.
  3. Sell the Eggs: List them for sale.

By following these steps and utilizing RuneLite’s pricing tools, you can navigate OSRS’s fluctuating market with confidence and maximize your profits. Remember, the key to success in OSRS is staying informed and adapting to market changes swiftly. Happy flipping!

RuneScape: A Scammers’ Paradise?

In recent months, there has been a growing problem with scammers in RuneScape. These scammers use a variety of methods to trick players out of their hard-earned OSRS gold, including:

• Phishing scams: These scams involve sending players emails or messages that appear to be from Jagex, the company that develops RuneScape. The emails or messages will often contain a link that, when clicked, will take the player to a fake website that looks like the real RuneScape website. Once the player enters their login information on the fake website, the scammers can steal their account.
• Scamming in the Grand Exchange: The Grand Exchange is a marketplace where players can buy and sell items. Scammers often pose as legitimate sellers and then trade players items that are worthless or have been duped.
• Rushing in PvP worlds: Rushing is a type of PvP where one player attacks another player who is not expecting it. Scammers often use cheating clients to give them an unfair advantage in PvP worlds.

These scammers are a major problem for the RuneScape community. They not only steal players’ gold, but they also ruin the game experience for everyone.

In a recent video, popular RuneScape YouTuber Camping__Josh exposed a group of scammers who were using cheating clients to auto-switch gear and auto-spec in PvP worlds. Camping__Josh was able to track down these scammers and even join their Discord server. In the Discord server, he spoke to the scammers and learned that they were making a lot of money from their activities.

Camping__Josh’s video has raised awareness of the problem of scamming in RuneScape. He has also called on Jagex, the company that develops RuneScape, to take action against these scammers.

Jagex has a team of moderators who are responsible for banning scammers. However, it can be difficult for moderators to keep up with the ever-changing methods that scammers use.

In addition to banning scammers, Jagex could also take other steps to reduce the problem of scamming. For example, Jagex could implement a more secure login system that would make it more difficult for scammers to steal players’ accounts. Jagex could also make it more difficult for scammers to use cheating clients in PvP worlds.

The problem of scamming in RuneScape is a serious one. However, there are steps that Jagex can take to reduce the problem. By taking action against scammers and making the game more secure, Jagex can help to protect the RuneScape community from these unscrupulous individuals.

In addition to the steps that Jagex can take, players can also take steps to protect themselves from scammers. Here are some tips for avoiding scams in RuneScape:

• Never click on links in emails or messages from people you don't know. These links may take you to fake websites that are designed to steal your login information.
• Be careful when trading items in the Grand Exchange. Make sure that you are trading with a legitimate seller.
• Be aware of the risks of PvP worlds. Scammers often target players in PvP worlds. If you are not prepared, you could be scammed RS Gold & account.

By following these tips, you can help to protect yourself from scammers in RuneScape.

OSRS Hellhounds Guide

Hellhounds are slayer beasts who are relatively simple to kill and they don’t even hit that high. You can use overhead prayer to negate their attacks. Hellhounds can be killed only on a Slayer assignment, and you can get them assigned through slayer masters Duradel, Nieve, Steve, Chaeldar, Konar, Vannaka, and Krystilia.

If You Need More OSRS Gold Or Other OSRS Service, Please Click Here!

If you have a high enough combat level, you can also consider approaching the Cerberus boss as killing counts towards the hellhound slayer assignment. Anyhow, in the following guide, we’ll be talking about where they’re located, how you can fight them, and what are their valuable drops.

Location

Hellhounds are of combat level 122, 127, and 136 with a max hit of 11 or 13. You can get about 116 to 150 XP per kill depending on their level. You need at least level 75 Slayer to approach them. The hellhounds are located in many locations.

Some of these locations include the Stronghold Slayer Cave, Taverley Dungeon, Witchaven Dungeon, God Wars Dungeon, Catacombs of Kourend, and Karuulm Slayer Dungeon. The quickest accessible place is the Stronghold Slayer Cave located in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. It’s where Slayer Masters Nieve and Steve are located.

How to fight them?

Hellhounds only attack through the melee. So, by using the protect from melee prayer, you can completely turn off dealing damage from them (if you have high defense). There are several safe spots in locations like the Taverley Dungeon, Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, and Stronghold Slayer Cave.

We recommend bringing a Dwarf Multi-Cannon if you’re on a slayer assignment as it increases your XP and Kills rates per hour. The best location to set up a cannon would be in the Stronghold Slayer Cave.

Gear

You can fight Hellhounds in any combat style you prefer. If you’re at a low combat level, you can choose to safe spot them; however, we recommend using melee head-on if your combat level is high. Since they’re weak to Magic, you need to set up your gear accordingly.

Melee

Slayer helm/black mask, amulet of torture/fury/glory, bandos chest plate/torso/obsidian, bandos tassets/obsidian, primordial/dragon boots/granite boots, ferocious gloves/barrows gloves/combat bracelet, avernic/dragon/rune defender, ghrazi rapier/abyssal tentacle, fire cape/mythical cape/obby cape, berserker ring (I)/brimstone ring/warrior ring(I), and Rada’s blessing (4)/God blessing.

Ranged

Slayer helm/black mask, a necklace of anguish/fury/glory, armadyl chest plate/blessed dragonhide, armadyl chain skirt/blessed dragonhide, pegasian boots/dragonhide boots, barrows gloves/blessed bracers, twisted buckler/odium ward/book of the law, toxic blowpipe/any crossbow, ava’s assembler/accumulator, archers ring (I)/brimstone ring, and amethyst broad bolts/rune bolts/broad bolts.

Magic

Slayer helm/black mask, occult necklace/fury, ancestral/ahrim/infinity top, ancestral/ahrim/infinity bottoms, eternal boots/infinity boots, tormented bracelet/barrows gloves, arcane/mage’s book, toxic trident/trident of the seas/staff of the dead, imbued god cape/God cape, seers ring (I)/brimstone ring, and Rada’s blessing 4/God blessing.

Inventory

The inventory setup would be very simple because there’s nothing at risk here. You’ll need to use this setup for any attack style you choose. 2x Super Combat Potions or Ranging Potions, 6 to 14 Prayer Potions, Teleportation, Dwarf Multi-Cannon, Cannonballs, Holy Wrench, Bonecrusher, and 4 to 10 pieces of food.

Drops

Besides regular bones, they have a chance of dropping Clue Scrolls (Hard). Not all drops might be worth your time but there is some mentioning. Also, the drop table changes depending on their location and the slayer master who assigned them.

The two valuable drops are Smoldering Stone and Clue Scroll (Hard). Slayer master exclusive drops include Brimstone Key, Larran’s Key, and Slayer’s Enchantment. Catacombs of Kourend exclusive drops include Ancient Shard, Dark Totem Base, Middle, and Top.

RuneScape – an InDepth Look

I’ve heard numerous times of how RuneScape has “terrible graphics” and “it’s boring”, but I’ve never heard any solid reasons of why they didn’t like this game. Personally, I believe that they just say these things because they think the game is for kids. In reality, there are adults playing this game and there are adults that are developing this game. It’s not a game for the younger generation only. Now, don’t get me wrong, a lot of younger kids do play this game, but if you really look, the game is far more than just a kids game. Let’s take a look at what exciting features this game has in store.

Your Very First Steps

When you first create an account and start the game, you start out on an island known as Tutorial Island. This place is one of the most annoying parts of the game and is a lot of the reason why people never start to play and realize the countless hours of fun this game can bring them. When I first started playing, it took me at least an hour or more to get through this because I’m one of those people that like to read everything and know what’s going on in the game. It also used to be very confusing. Now, six years later, they have updated it. I haven’t played the Tutorial Island in quite a long time, but there have definitely been some updates to it and once you get through this treacherous island, the adventure begins…

The Review

Now that you have made it off that island, here is where the fun begins. Some of you may be thinking, “This seems more like a guide then a review.” Well I assure you, it’s a review.

To clear things up, I have played this game but I don’t really anymore. I was a member for a couple years and I’ve experience most of the game and know what’s fun about the game, and what I didn’t like about the game. There have been countless updates in the years that I’ve been playing. Some were for the better, and some were for the worse as some people may think.

As you can see, I rated the Creativity of this game at a 15 because I feel like it stole a lot of it’s ideas from other games. World of Warcraft being the main game JaGeX took their ideas from. Now, I could be wrong, but that’s just my opinion. For any of you RuneScape players, you know about the new skill that was just released about a month ago. This is a dungeon skill and similar to the Dungeons in World of Warcraft. I believe that RuneScape did an okay job on this skill, but it could have been a lot better. The dungeons are repetitive and get boring after awhile, but if you have friends to do them with, then they can be much more fun. I didn’t have people to play with when it first came out so I tried doing them alone. It gets pretty boring and after a couple of days I’m back to not playing anymore.

You may be wondering why I don’t play anymore if this game is so fun. Well, it used to be fun for me. Now I’m just tired of it like anything else. There are plenty of skills that you can level in this game making it different from any other game I’ve played. Unlike other games, you are able to level each skill and are not stuck with just a few. You don’t create a class at the beginning, you just make your guy how you would want him. Either max out all of his skills, or become a “pure” where you only do certain skills. This would be making your own class you could say.

With the all the skills, there are plenty of ways to make money in this game. The economy is well-balanced and money making can be difficult. You definitely need some experience in this game before you can start making lots of money. At first it may be difficult to play because you can’t seem to make enough money, but if you look around you can find guides on how to make some. Most guides either tell you to merchant, or use your skills to make money. I suggest using your skills to make money as merchanting can get on your nerves and make you not like the game even more. Wait on that until you have a decent amount of money and some knowledge about items and their prices.

JaGeX offers a free version of this game with about 20 quests and the ability to level at least half of the skills on your character. To me, I think that is a great deal. You can play for as long as you want on a Free account and there aren’t any level restrictions. You can max out all the “Free-to-Play” skills, but you won’t be able to train any other skills until you become a member. Membership is only six dollars per month and time cards can be bought at most stores (Wal-Mart, Gamestop, etc.) Once becoming a member, a whole new world is opened up to you and your adventure begins again. Members also make money a lot easier/faster because they have access to the whole world of RuneScape and can now train every single skill. Being a member changes the experience of this game by far.

The basic advertisements that JaGeX provides I feel aren’t good enough to lure people into playing their game. They basically just say you do quests and find treasure etc. etc. To me, this would make me wander off and find a different game because most games like this are side-scrollers or are just boring in general. They do have an actual video advertisement, however, which helps a lot more to see what this game looks like.

There are numerous updates all the time (mostly for members) and there are over 140 different servers that you can play on. You aren’t bound to one server like in WoW. Instead, you can use any of the servers you like. There are also servers for a couple other languages as well. There aren’t as many servers, but there are some for anyone that speaks other languages.

So what are you waiting for! Try out this exciting game and find out for yourself what it’s all about. I barely even touched on all the things that are available in this game. There are tons of quests, tons of items, and PVP! Hope to see you soon!
