New World is now opening its Public Test Realm (PTR) to provide a sneak peek of the upcoming Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.

This round of testing is unique, with a more concise and focused approach. The development team has mentioned in recent announcements, community Q&A sessions, and developer chats that the expansion testing would be notably shorter than usual. The PTR is officially accessible starting today at 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM ET and will remain open until September 18th at 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM ET, which allows for a testing period of less than one week.

The Rise of the Angry Earth expansion promises to introduce several exciting elements, including mounts, a new weapon known as the Flail, the Elysian Wilds zone (replacing First Light), and a comprehensive range of overhauls, reworks, and balance adjustments. Additionally, players can look forward to new story content, the Heartrune ability, novel mechanics such as the riding trade skill and mount quests.
